You Can Heal from Depression. TMS Therapy May Be the Solution for You.

If you've tried medication, therapy, or both without relief, please know that you haven't run out of options, and you haven't failed. Many people with major depression, OCD, and other conditions don't find relief through medication alone, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) was developed with exactly this experience in mind. It offers a path forward that's drug-free, non-invasive, and FDA-cleared, so you can pursue healing without adding new side effects or medications to manage.

During treatment, you'll wear a helmet-like device that delivers gentle magnetic pulses to the areas of your brain involved in regulating mood, areas that tend to be underactive in depression. At Advanced Psychiatry, we use Deep TMS, a form of TMS therapy that's been studied in more than 60 clinical trials worldwide to help improve symptoms of depression, OCD, and related conditions. Our team will guide you through every step, so you always know what to expect and never feel like just another appointment on the schedule.

Don't let depression hold you back

Clinically Proven and FDA-Cleared

TMS has been FDA-approved since 2008 as a safe and effective treatment for depression. Unlike traditional medication, which often comes with unpleasant side effects and unsatisfactory results, TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation.

FIRST TREATMENT

A Comfortable, Personalized Experience

Your first TMS treatment session begins with mapping, which allows us to identify the area of the brain to be stimulated. This initial session, including mapping, takes about 45 minutes. Subsequent sessions last about 20 minutes. During treatment, magnetic pulses stimulate the area of the brain involved in mood regulation while you relax in a comfortable chair (you may hear a clicking sound during the process, which is normal). You can return to your normal activities immediately afterward and may drive yourself to and from appointments.

02

Mapping

Before your first TMS treatment begins, we’ll complete a process called mapping. This step helps us pinpoint the exact location on your scalp and determine the right magnet strength for your unique needs. Your provider will gently position the TMS coil and make small adjustments while monitoring your responses. This ensures your treatment is precisely targeted for the best possible results.

03

During TMS Therapy

During treatment, the coil will deliver gentle magnetic pulses to the targeted area of your brain, stimulating the nerve cells involved in mood regulation. You will feel a light tapping sensation on your scalp.

04

After TMS Treatment

When your session ends, you can get right back to your day, no downtime or recovery period needed. Most patients drive themselves home or return to work immediately after. You may notice gradual improvements in mood and energy over the course of your treatment plan, and your provider will check in regularly to track your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
