Dr. Schmale is a University of Michigan trained and ABPN Board-Certified Psychiatrist, and Medical Director at Michigan Advanced Psychiatry. He has focused his career on neuromodulation and treatment-resistant conditions, using Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), Spravato (intranasal ketamine) and intravenous ketamine. Dr. Schmale has over 20 academic publications and major speaking engagements, and has been honored with two teaching awards by the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. Dr. Schmale’s goal is to bring advanced treatments to the community, helping those in need and continuing to work in collaboration with colleagues.

Pooja is a medical assistant and certified operator of Brainsway Deep TMS. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2021 with a degree in Human Biology and plans to attend medical school in 2023. Pooja loves all things music, sneakers, and food and is dedicated to uplifting patients throughout their wellness journeys.

Dr. LeBlanc is an ABPN Board-Certified Psychiatrist who completed residency training at the University of Michigan. He served as Outpatient Chief Resident and was awarded the “Resident Achievement Award” by the University of Michigan Psychiatry Department during his final year of training. In addition to medication management, he has expertise in neuromodulation techniques including Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), Spravato (intranasal ketamine) and intravenous ketamine. He is excited to use these advanced techniques to help you and those in the surrounding communities.

Dr. Gattari is an adult psychiatrist who completed residency training at the University of Michigan. During residency she completed a year-long fellowship through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute where she developed a skill set using complementary and alternative approaches to psychiatric care, as well as methods to address root causes to symptoms when appropriate. She has expertise in Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), Spravato (intranasal ketamine) and intravenous ketamine. In addition to neuromodulation, conventional medication management, and integrative psychiatry, Dr. Gattari also has a special interest in psychotherapy and looks forward to incorporating neuromodulation techniques with psychotherapy for a synergistic effect that can help patients reach their full potential and thrive.

Tommy Lareau is an NCCPA Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). He received his Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University. He has a passion for treating psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, and OCD. Additionally, he has an interest in utilizing neuromodulation techniques for treatment resistant conditions. In his free time, Tommy enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his two dogs, Jameson and Margot!

Mika is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She moved to Michigan from California to complete her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Handelman has worked and trained in a wide range of clinical settings including academic medical centers, community mental health clinics, mobile crisis units, inpatient hospitals, and private practice. She provides an integrative, flexible, and tailored approach to her work with clients. At Michigan Advanced Psychiatry, Dr. Handelman primarily focuses on providing patients with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as well as general psychotherapy. In her spare time, she likes all things involving food, cooking, animals, and nature.

Samantha is a NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant and the Neuromodulation Program Director, who works alongside Dr. Schmale and Dr. LeBlanc. She graduated in 2018 with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University. Samantha is a certified operator of Brainsway Deep TMS. She is a native of southeastern Michigan and is an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.

Kalli is a graduate from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She is a medical assistant and certified operator in Brainsway Deep TMS, and plans to attend medical school in the future. Kalli loves trying new restaurants in Ann Arbor and looks forward to supporting and advocating for the mental health community.

Reagan is a recent University of Michigan graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and plans to attend medical school in the future. She is a medical assistant with a passion for mental health care, and outside of work, she enjoys yoga and singing. One day Reagan hopes to incorporate her love for art and movement into her future career as a doctor.

Dane is a graduate of the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University and received a master’s degree in accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He leads the business management and operations at Michigan Advanced Psychiatry. Dane’s goal is to help the medical staff continue to bring advanced and effective mental health treatments to the community.

Sierra is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in Neuroscience and plans to attend graduate school in the future. She is a medical assistant at MAP, a certified operator of Brainsway Deep TMS, and a research assistant at U of M. When Sierra is not at work, she likes to spend her time out with friends exploring Ann Arbor.

Allie is the Clinical Coordinator for Michigan Advanced Psychiatry. She received her Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine and her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a certified operator of Brainsway Deep TMS. Allie is dedicated to helping patients achieve their treatment goals and coordinate their care at our facilities.

Hannah is a medical assistant and a certified operator of Brainsway Deep TMS. She is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan (go blue!) with a degree in Biopsychology. She plans to attend PA school in the future. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys running with her dog and buying new plants.

Brittany is the manager of the Billing and Collections team. She has over 10 years of management experience, and helps with any questions or concerns patients may have with billing, statements, or time of service payments. Outside of working, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends.

Queeny is the supervisor of the Collections Department. She investigates claims to make sure they are paid accordingly and resolves any denials. Queeny has over 8 years experience handling claims and loves what she does. She is also a Registered Nurse. In her spare time she enjoys watching documentaries.

Rebecca is the Director of Operations for the Call Center, Billing, and Collections Department. She has worked in the medical and mental health field for over 35 years. Her favorite job is Grammie to her 7 grandchildren. Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, serving at her church, reading, and being a beach-bum and watching sunsets.

Riza is the supervisor of the Billing Department. She makes sure that all of the billing is sent out timely and accurately. She has over 4 years of experience in insurance billing. Riza is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources Management. She enjoys watching comedy shows, and thriller and action movies.

Charles is the go-to guy for patient statements. He primarily handles statement inquiries regarding patients' balances. Charles loves Star Wars and anything about the NBA. In his free time, he loves to play basketball with his friends.

She received her bachelor's degree in travel-tourism and hospitality management; but fell in love with the medical administrative operations field. Leigh has been in the industry for over 5 years. In her free time she loves to go to the beach and take in the natural beauty of sunsets.
